Al-Falih: We Seek to Establish Major Development Projects in Mauritania

Saudi Minister of Investment, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, said that his country seeks to establish major development projects in Mauritania and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors in both countries in various fields, most notably mining, energy, water desalination, digitalization, and infrastructure.

Al-Falih was part of a delegation that included representatives from the Saudi private sector, particularly in the mining sector, led by the Chairman of Rasi Investment Company, which specializes in mining investments.

Al-Falih pointed out that the Saudi government is seeking to conclude an agreement to launch a project for exporting iron ore in partnership and integration between the National Company for Industry and Mines in Mauritania and the Saudi Iron and Steel Company, in addition to energy and water desalination projects between the two countries, digitalization, and infrastructure.

He added, “The partnership between Mauritania and Saudi Arabia has transformed in 2025 into an economic and trade partnership under the directives of the leaders of the two brotherly countries.”

The minister emphasized that the Saudi leadership and people hold Mauritania in the highest esteem and respect, praising the bonds of brotherhood and historical relations between the two countries, which are rapidly evolving towards comprehensive economic cooperation.
